About Us



Wm. MarKen Jewelers was founded in 1996 by Bill Lyddon, Mark Meins, and Ken Criser.  The name is an acronym combining the first names of the owners, and their combined experience brings over 100 years of expertise to the business.  We are Bloomington-Normal's oldest member of the American Gem Society and hold three American Gem Society titles.

Wm. MarKen Jewelers is Normal and Bloomington IL's finest jeweler offering gold and silver jewelry, necklaces, pendants, diamonds, wedding rings, bracelets and more.  We provide appraisal and repair service, insurance replacement and much more.

Staff Profiles

Bill Lyddon

Bill was raised in Bloomington-Normal and has lived in Central Illinois most of his life. Bill has a degree in Geology and is a Certified Gemologist Appraiser.  With over 25 years of jewelry experience, Bill has been a member of the American Gem Society and GIA Alumni Association for many years.

Ken Criser

Ken has lived in Central Illinois all his life.  As an apprentice, Ken was trained in the "old school" ways of hand fabricating, diamond setting, and repairing jewelry.  During his 40 year jewelry career, Ken has created or repaired many family heirloom items for generations of friends and customers in the area.  Ken is a member of the American Gem Society and holds the title of Registered Jeweler.  He is also a charter member of Business Network International in Bloomington-Normal.

Mark Meins

Recently retired, Mark was one of the original three owners of Wm. Marken.  Mark is a Certified Gemologist and has 32 years jewelry experience in Central Illinois.  He grew up in Hopedale, IL and has lived in Bloomington-Normal for over 25 years.  An Illinois State University graduate, Mark is a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.  Mark is also a member of the Normal Masons, Bloomington Consistery, and Illinois Farm Bureau.


Kelly Robertson

Kelly hails from East Peoria but moved to Bloomingtonin 2012 to become a transfer student at Illinois State University. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and since then has continued to sharpen her creativity through personal projects and teaching art workshops. She is excited to now work full time in a field that utilizes her keen eye for aesthetics. At the heart of it all and as a jack-of-all-trades, Kelly likes to work with her hands. Whether you need a watch battery replaced or a custom design drafted, Kelly can get you fixed up!

Jennifer Millman

Jennifer is originally from Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago.  Pursuing a degree from Illinois State University, Jennifer received a Bachelors of Arts in Fine Jewelry and Sculpture.  With her background in jewelry design, Jennifer has exhibited her pieces in multiple galleries and has received scholarships as well.  As our store’s in-house designer, Jennifer can offer sketches for your custom jewelry ideas.
